Radiation is a major problem that the first manned mission to Mars will have to face, as we will be at the limit of what we can receive. A whole range of solutions exist to reduce the dose, and we will have to use them to the fullest extent. We will be constrained by the need to limit the mass transported and the energy required for the spacecraft’s propulsion, but we will be able to launch (2033)!
