Propulsive braking approaching the Earth-Moon Lagrange point L1 (L1-TL) is the ideal method for sufficiently slowing down a Starship returning from Mars. All other methods are more difficult and/or more dangerous for the spacecraft and its passengers. However, this braking method requires the spacecraft to be sent to a rotating space station orbiting L1-TL. Therefore, we must begin building this station now!
