The media reported that Elon Musk was shifting his focus from Mars to the Moon. However, things aren’t quite that simple. Mars remains the primary objective. The Moon will be used more as an analog, while for Mars, SpaceX will simply wait until a manned flight becomes possible. This isn’t at all giving up as this first flight is projected for 2031, and that launching any earlier would have been impossible.
